Titan Industries of the Tata Group made ‘Goldplus Nano’, a blingy model of the smallest car Tata Nano with pure gold, which was unveiled at Mumbai on Sept 19, 2011. Covered with 80 kg of 22-carat gold, 15 kg silver and inlaid with 10,000 semi-precious stones and gems, the car was estimated to be worth over Rs 22 crore! It was created to celebrate 5,000 years of Indian jewellery. The beautiful designs, made of colourful stones set on the gold-and-silver body of the car showcases 14 traditional and modern techniques of jewellery-making from around India.
