Indian Railways introduced 15905/15906 Vivek Express, weekly train service between Dibrugarh in Assam and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on Nov 19, 2011. Covering the country’s longest rail route, it was one of the four Vivek Express trains launched to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The train travels 4,286 km in 82 hr 30 min, passing through 615 railway stations across seven states (Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu).
