Name: Charuvi Agarwal
Place:Indira Gandhi National Centre, Delhi, India.
Record title: Largest bell installation
Artist Charuvi Agarwal created a suspended installation of Hanuman, 25 ft in height, using 26,500 bells, inspired by Hanuman’s magnificence, valour and beauty that were part of a multi-sensory exhibition titled Forty Hymns of Faith at Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Delhi on April 3, 2013. The interactive artwork responded to touch, in this case when Ram’s wooden sandals were touched, the bells started vibrating from bottom to top. The exhibition provided an animated experience of Hanuman in a 3D digital format with sculptures, innovative visualisations and interactive augmented reality (AR) installations.
Other elements at the exhibition were a 11-min film on the Hanuman Chalisa, featuring a cast led by Amitabh Bachchan, an interactive application that presented the prayer in a new avatar, an 18-ft high storybook and a mystical hologram illusion.
