Mumbai-based artist Jitish Kallat converted Mahatma Gandhi’s historic speech made on the eve of the 400 km Dandi March on March 11, 1930 into an installation called Public Notice 2 (2007), using 4,479 fibre glass fabrications of ominous bones shaped like alphabets. It was exhibited in the Hall of Nations at the Kennedy Centre from March 1–20, 2011. An entire room was dedicated to this sculpture that started with ‘In all probability this will be my last speech to you.
