The All India Invitation Schools’ Regatta, organised by The Lake Club Ltd, Kolkata is the largest single rowing event with country-wide participation of school-going children. Launched in 1973 to promote rowing as a sport among young boys and girls, it is also the oldest such event in the country, recognised by the Rowing Federation of India. The participants are given training for a month.
K C Mahindra All India Invitation School’s Regatta 2013, the 41st edition of the event held at Rabindra Sarobar from June 9-16, 2013, had participation of 350 young rowers from 67 schools across six states.
