Vidya Balan is a leading film actress with works ranging from television sitcoms, music videos, TV advertisements to films in Hindi, Malayalam and Bengali. Vidya started her career with Hum Paanch (sitcom). Her first real break came with Euphoria band’s music video. She got a chance to act in the Bengali feature Bhalo Theko in 2003. Her Bollywood launch vehicle Parineeta (2005) won her recognition in Bollywood circles. The year 2009 proved a turning point in her career when she landed a role in the film Paa. She followed it up with blockbusters Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, The Dirty Picture and Kahani and proved her mettle as a talented actress. Vidya has won the Filmfare Award five times including the Best Female Debut. She bagged the National Award for her role in The Dirty Picture in 2011.
