Science Express – Biodiversity Special (SEBS), the fifth phase of the history-making science exhibition on rail tracks started its tour of the country from Delhi on June 5, 2012, World Environment Day. The custom-built 16-coach air-conditioned exhibition train, an initiative of Department of Science & Technology and Ministry of Environment & Forests, comprises 11 coaches showcasing the rich biodiversity of India, climate change, water and energy conservation. It also has two coaches featuring the popular VASCSC Joy of Science hands-on lab and an exhibition on the Legacy of the Science Express itself. Developed by Centre for Environment Education, Ahmedabad and Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC), it is supported by HSBC, Swiss Embassy, Nestle, PCRA and Indus Towers. In its previous four phases, the mobile exhibition had travelled over 80,000 km across the country between Oct 30, 2007 and June 16, 2011.
