Girish Panchal of Ahmedabad held an exhibition of 144 thumb-nail embossed paintings on the Mahatma from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm at Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalya, Gandhi Ashram, Ahmedabad, to mark his 144th birth anniversary on Oct 2, 2012. The paintings were divided into six groups – portraits, dandi march, concept paintings, two-in-one, sabda chitra (alphabet pictures) and 0-9 rules of the Mahatma. The smallest painting measured 3×5 in and the largest 14×28 in. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr OP Mathai, Dean, Gandhi Research Foundation.
